VHF Control Box (MCP) – The 'Active' frequency window, enables the flight crew to set a new active frequency by clicking on it (MCP or MCDU). The 'FAIL' amber message is displayed in the frequency window when the associated VHF is:

The VHF has the capability to automatically cutoff transmission against unintentional or continuous transmission linked with jammed Push-To-Talk (PTT) devices or equipment malfunction. After _____ of continuous transmission, a tone is heard to indicate impending cutout of transmission (TX).
Five seconds later, transmission is cutoff and 'FAIL' indication replaces the active frequency on the VCP/MCDU. The tone and the 'FAIL' indication remains displayed as long as the VHF is latched for transmission. 'VHF EMITTING' alert is displayed on EWD and reception mode (RX) remains available on the affected VHF. 'VHF EMITTING' alert remains displayed on EWD as long as affected VHF transmission (TX) is not restored.
If pressed the R6 LSK will automatically preset emergency frequency 121.500.
If pressed the R6 LSK will automatically tune emergency frequency 121.500 as active.
During HF communications, ADFs are inhibited to avoid interferences.
HF system is SELCAL capable.
The INT/RAD Selector position is required to automatically connect for _____ without using a PTT pb, when released the selector is spring-loaded to NEUTRAL.

The VHF 2 is supplied by the:
The VHF 2 is supplied by the DC BUS 2 and the VHF 1 is supplied by the DC EMER BUS.
The Emergency Beacon transmitter is in the ceiling of the cabin between the passengers entry door and the toilet door. AUTO TEST RST: it is used in case of undue alert (reset), or to test the Emergency beacon. Two cases are possible for the test:

Caution: the test must not be performed in MAN mode.
The R5 LSK enables turning off/on the squelch. Turning on the squelch will:

When the squelch is turned on, it may suppress useful VHF voice message when the signal is weak. With the squelch turned on, a VHF transceiver may attenuate and block the received signal when the other VHF transceiver is transmitting. In case VHF transceivers are simultaneously used, it is therefore recommended to turn the squelch off to prevent loss of reception.
The ELT is located in:
Aircraft on ground (and electrically supplied), when the emergency beacon is triggered after 60 seconds, the mechanical horn is triggered too.

Aircraft on ground (and electrically supplied), when the emergency beacon is triggered after 30 seconds, the mechanical horn is triggered too.

When the VOICE ONLY Key is pressed, it inhibits NAV receivers station identification by activating a band cut off filter above 1 020 Hz. Voice only light comes on amber.
