Airbus A380

The Airbus A380 is a very large wide-body airliner that was developed and produced by Airbus. The Airbus A380 has a typical seating for 525 passengers, with a maximum certified capacity for 853 passengers. The quadjet is powered by Engine Alliance GP7200 or Rolls-Royce Trent 900 turbofans providing a range of 8,000 nm (14,800 km).

The first A380 entered service on 25 October 2007. Airbus completed assembly of the final A380 fuselage on 25 September 2020. With 251 orders and a significant impact on the aviation industry, the A380 has been a great aircraft and an impressive engineering achievement despite many challenges.

It is the only full-length double-deck jet airliner and the  largest commercial aircraft ever built, by capacity or volume, but not the longest. The 747-8 is 79.95 m (262.3 ft) long, compared with 72.72 m (238.5 ft) for the A380. The upcoming Boeing 777X will also be longer, with the larger 777-9 reaching 76.7 m (250.3 ft).
